W10 Reflection: ROI & Optimization
This week we learned about ROI and optimization using Google Ads. This is important to an online business because you need to know which keywords and ads are performing well by the impressions, clicks, and click through rates you get. I am still new to all of this, and don't feel that I have it all down, but that it takes time to find your niche. I am doing affiliate marketing for Amazon, and since I don't have a specific product or service to sell, it can be harder to drive people to the site and see a conversion.
This week we also had the opportunity to use the conversion calculator to estimate the amount of ROI we would see from our sites. I measured mine on the assumption of website visits, and came to the conclusion that it would be $.15 per conversion. That really isn't a lot, and again, by using the affiliate model, I don't expect to see much revenue generated as commissions for me. I applaud some of my other classmates who are selling merchandise or a service. Because this won't be my line of work after the class is over, I still feel that knowing how to put this all together may be beneficial to me at some point in the future.
