W08 Ads & Ad Groups
This week we learned about Google Ads and Ad Groups. This was really a learning experience for me, as I had never tried creating an online ad campaign before. I'm still not sure how to best structure my ads for the upcoming assignments, as my site is a hodge-podge of items that I have purchased on Amazon that I really love. I had to pause a couple of times to make sure I wasn't activating the ad, and nervous that my credit card information was tied to Google Ads because I had purchased my domain name through Google Domains, and used Google Sites to create my website.
I feel like I'm not getting the meat and bones of this exercise. This is where I feel online school is failing students. It is really a double-edged sword when online classes are available to all the world and very convenient for me and those who work 40+ hour jobs, but you can't be in Rexburg to take part of the in-person classes. I appreciate the videos, but still feel that a weekly live workshop where questions could be fielded and information taught should be required for ALL online classes and would benefit us so much. (no shade Brother Poole). The best teacher that did this was Hilary Weber, amazing! I know that for many instructors, this is their second job, so the extra effort to "teach" is not there.
I will try to do my best to get through the assignments, and hope that I walk away with some skills that will benefit my career or personal life somewhere along the way. Just sharing my thoughts, after all, isn't this what a blog is for?
