W07 Reflection: Google Ads & Keywords
This week we learned about the importance of keywords in Google Ad campaigns. It is important to choose the right keywords for your ad campaign in order to drive customers to your site. There are keywords that are broad, phrase and exact matches to what people are looking for. There are also negative keywords, which when searched, can exclude your ads from the search. I would use the function Google set up to help optimize your keyword searching, called Smart Bidding. This is important for those who don't know how keywords work and can help when starting a new business. Two important things to remember when choosing keywords.
1. Choose your keywords carefully. Why is this important? This is important because you should use the words or phrases that a customer would use to describe your product. Keywords of two or three words should be used, and are more effective.
2. Group similar keywords into ad groups. This allows products of the same theme, but different item, to be grouped together. Ads can them be created for each item. Like rings - wedding and engagement.
