W05 Reflection: Site Design

This week we looked at site design. We were asked to take two websites for businesses that sold or offered the same services. I was contemplating a Blog where I would do travel reviews. I decided to compare Travelocity and Trip Advisor for our assignment this week. What I found was that both offered the same things, but their websites had a different look. One had a more modern look, almost patterend after AirBNB, which is necessary to stay relevant with the other competitors in the market. Travelocity offered a QR code to use with mobile devices, which is also a great thing to incorporate. 

Websites have to evoke a certain type of feelings to their customers. Just like the ones that I looked at this week, they both made me feel that I needed to take a vacation! They had large buttons, easy to navigate, lots of pictures, etc. If I had to choose one solely based on look, it would be Trip Advisor.
